As a photographer I can learn a lot from studying the master painters. It is important for me to use vivid colors when directing the viewer's attention to my focal point. The eye is drawn to contrast, so placing contrast colors side by side will naturally grab the whole situation. This is a powerful tool for creating emphasis, directing focus, and creating visually appealing compositions.
